Update on Winter Storm Operations

We’re keeping a close eye on the impending winter storm expected to impact the Northeast and New England regions tomorrow and are planning our operations accordingly.

Two converging weather systems make the potential for this storm especially strong. We expect initial snows to reach the Northeast tonight with the bulk of the storm to hit tomorrow afternoon lasting into Saturday. We anticipate the New York area will see rain changing to snow tomorrow, all snow inland and the highest accumulations expected for the New England region including Boston. Blizzard conditions are forecast for the entire region. We’ve proactively cancelled more than 600 flights and will continue to monitor and adjust our operations as needed. If your flight has been cancelled you will be notified and rebooked on the next available flight.

Behind the scenes, we’re ensuring that our crews are safe and in place to assist in the operations. We expect the storm to pass by Saturday afternoon, but a full return to normal operations will be dependent on airport conditions as well as the conditions of the roadways and public transportation around the airports.

We’re waiving change/cancel fees and fare differences for customers traveling Friday and Saturday to select cities in the region to rebook through Tuesday, February 12. Visit jetblue.com for the full details including the list of cities.

Stay tuned here for updates and be sure to check your flight status before heading to the airport (even if you’re coming from a warm and sunny city).
