This November, JetBlue celebrates National Veterans and Military Families Month – a time to honor veterans and families of service members for their strength, resilience and tremendous sacrifice.
We’re proud to have more than 1,500 veterans and even more military family members at JetBlue. Our passionate crewmembers are the inspiration behind our special Vets in Blue aircraft, which proudly flies across our network and honors those serving or who have served, every day. They’re also the driving force behind our Vets in Blue crewmember resource group, which champions JetBlue’s veterans-related initiatives, supports our veterans hiring events, and reminds us every day of the incredible impact service members and their families have on our lives.
On October 3, JetBlue teamed up with PepsiCo to help kick off their sixth annual “Rolling Remembrance” relay. To honor military heroes who lost their lives in service, PepsiCo drivers who are also veterans are transporting an American flag across the country.
A JetBlue crew consisting of veterans flew the flag from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to its first stop in Seattle aboard our Vets in Blue plane. The flag is now traveling the remainder of its 8,687-mile journey throughout the U.S. on the ground and will arrive at its final destination of PepsiCo headquarters in Purchase, NY on Veterans Day (Thursday, November 11).
This cross-country relay also helps raise awareness of and funds for Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation, an organization that provides college scholarships and educational counseling to children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.
