Helpful information when plans change

The coronavirus pandemic has brought incredible disruption to the lives of many of our customers. During this unprecedented situation, JetBlue has taken a number of steps to offer flexibility from some of our normal policies given the impact. Based on different scenarios, there are different options:

 

I need to travel (new bookings)

We’ve suspended change and cancel fees for all new bookings made between March 27 and May 31, 2020 for travel through January 4, 2021. If you need to travel, you can book with confidence on jetblue.com and jetbluevacations.com and know that changes or cancellations will be allowed without penalty should travel plans change.

The change/cancel fees suspension still applies for bookings made between February 27 and March 5, 2020 for travel through June 1, 2020, and for bookings made between March 6 and March 26, 2020 for travel through September 8, 2020.

I need to change/cancel my flight

We’re waiving change/cancel fees for customers traveling through January 4, 2021.

Customers may rebook their flights for travel through January 4, 2021 online in the Manage Trips section of jetblue.com or contact us prior to the departure time of their originally scheduled flight. Fare difference may apply. Original travel must be booked on or before May 31, 2020.

For cancellations, funds will be issued as a JetBlue Travel Bank Credit, valid for 24 months from the date of issuance. JetBlue Vacations bookings will be issued as JetBlue Vacations Credit, valid for 24 months from the date of issuance.

 

I voluntarily canceled my flight

If you cancelled your reservation while the flight was still scheduled to operate, the ticket is subject to the associated fare rules*; receiving a JetBlue Travel Bank Credit valid for 24 months from the date of issuance.

 

JetBlue cancelled my flight

In the event your flight is canceled by JetBlue and you had a confirmed reservation at the time of cancelation, the following options are available:

  • Travel on the next available JetBlue flight at no additional charge
  • Receive a JetBlue Travel Bank Credit, valid for 24 months from the date of issuance
  • Receive a refund to original form of payment if your flight cannot be rebooked within 2 hours (120 minutes)

Additionally, flights canceled within 4 hours of scheduled departure are eligible for compensation under our Customer Bill of Rights.

 

JetBlue changed the schedule on my upcoming flight

In the event your flight is changed by JetBlue, the following options are available:

  • Scheduled departure change of 60 minutes or less are subject to all applicable associated fees and/or increases in airfare* (Flights qualifying for our current fee waiver may be changed or adjusted without additional charge)
  • Scheduled departure change between 61 and 119 minutes:- Rebook to the same city-pairs or co-located cities same day, day prior, or day after the original flight at no additional charge
  • Cancel and request a JetBlue Travel Bank Credit, valid for 24 months from the date of issuance
  • Scheduled departure change greater than 2 hours (120 minutes):
    •  Rebook to the same city-pairs or co-located cities within +/- 7 days of scheduled departure at no additional charge
    • Cancel and request a JetBlue Travel Bank Credit, valid for 24 months from the date of issuance
    • Receive a refund to original form of payment
  • Schedule changes from a nonstop to a connecting or stopover flight may also receive a refund to original form of payment

*Flights qualifying for our current fee waivers may be changed/cancelled without penalty.
