Our Boston Station Sets International Cargo History

On October 8, the first outbound international cargo shipment to the Dominican Republic traveled on Flight 891 BOS-SDQ. To mark this milestone, flags from both nations were displayed at both the departure and arrival stations.

Our Cargo team is very excited about the significance of the shipment. “This is definitely an important part of JetBlue history, and will open many doors for shipping international cargo to different countries,” says Elmer Jeronimo, BOS Supervisor Mail and Cargo.

Fun Fact: In November 2005, BOS became the first station to ship cargo for JetBlue, with the first shipment being seafood. Back then, the team was shipping 67 pounds per week which has grown to more than 90,000 pounds weekly!
