Lufthansa pilots set to strike; Customer and pass travel info here

Pilots at Lufthansa are set to strike for four days (February 22 – 25), in what has been billed as the largest pilot strike in the airline’s history. The strike will impact our codeshare Customers and will also impact pass travel for our Crewmembers and eligible pass riders.

Pass travel for Crewmembers

Lufthansa strongly discourages pass travel over the next week due to the situation. Please plan your travel accordingly by securing backup passes or purchasing tickets on other airlines and allowing plenty of time to get to/from your destination.

Codeshare Customers

JetBlue Customers booked on connecting codeshare itineraries operated by Lufthansa will be contacted directly by Lufthansa for alternative travel arrangements should their flight be impacted by the airline’s pilot strike.

Customers who wish to voluntarily postpone travel during the strike period (February 22 – 25) may contact Lufthansa for a one-time fee-free change. Travel must have been ticketed before February 18, 2010; new travel must take place before May 31, 2010.

All JetBlue-Lufthansa codeshare bookings must be handled through Lufthansa reservations at 1-800-645-3880. Customer Support Crewmembers may warm transfer directly to Lufthansa at extension 2210.
