The article explores openly the shifting landscape for pilots- particularly at legacy and regional airlines- and the hard-hit reality of cuts that pilots have been increasingly facing. Though some of the pilots stories are less than favorable, our pilot describes his job and his experience jetting as something his relishes. “Every time we take off there’s still a little sense of wonder,” Scarcella says. “It’s almost magical. … Being up there and seeing the things you can see at dawn at 30,000 feet as you’re coming across the country.
