Customers traveling through our home base of operations, T5 at New York’s JFK, will be surprised with an exclusive live performance by UK artist Ellie Goulding on Thursday, January 19, 2012 as part of our latest Live From T5 concert.
The self-taught singer rose to the top of the UK album charts following the release of her debut album, Lights, in 2010. Her stateside debut was followed by a national U.S. tour and included TV performances on Saturday Night Live, Live with Regis and Kelly, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the only performer at the royal wedding of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton, and most recently a performance at the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Washington, D.C. Goulding is scheduled to appear on Late Night with David Letterman on the eve of her JetBlue performance. Having already conquered her native Britain with the best-selling debut album of 2010, Ellie has also won over American audiences and garnered rave reviews for Lights.
Singer-songwriter Chris Isaak rocked out T5 this afternoon to a crowd of delighted customers and crewmembers. He sang such holiday favorites as “Blue Christmas” and “Can’t Help Falling.” Our lucky contest winners came from all corners of the country for a chance to hear the up-close-and-personal performance.
Isaak’s newest album, Beyond the Sun, is a self-described labor of love paying tribute to the influential sound of Sun Records and the artists who helped shape Rock n’ Roll.

The singer-songwriter, musician, actor and talk show host is a perfect fit for JetBlue with long-running hits in his repertoire including “Wicked Game,” “Forever Blue,” “Baby did a Bad, Bad Thing,” “Somebody’s Crying.” His music was also featured in the films “Blue Velvet” and “Eyes Wide Shut.” Isaak himself has appeared in several films including “Little Buddha” “That Thing You Do,” “Silence of the Lambs” among others. We’re pleased to bring it home with a top vocal performance by a top-tier artist. Ticketed Customers will be surprised and delighted to catch the blend of musical traditions that Derulo’s futuristic pop-R&B sound combines. The 21-year-old singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor will be sure to catch the attention of passersby. Derulo’s newest album, Future History, releases on Sept. 27 as well.

Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York. As the show’s Official & Exclusive Airline Partner, our Live from T5 summer performance will available to ticketed customers.
Our Live from T5 Series is pleased to take the leap from vocal performances to include our premiere live theatre performance. Ticketed customers won’t have to leave the airport to get their first taste of New York couture when the cast of CATCH ME performs key numbers from the Tony Award-winning show in the airline’s performance-worthy T5 terminal. The cast will perform six acts from the musical including Jet Set and Don’t Break the Rules.
Our Live from T5 concert series debuted in 2009 and was developed in partnership with Superfly Marketing Group. It has since grown into a concert series that transforms the travel experience by producing live entertainment for customers traveling through our state-of-the-art Terminal 5 at JFK. Live from T5 features artists from around the world. Over the past three years the series has hosted performances by Robyn, James Blunt, Taylor Swift, Raphael Saadiq, Sarah McLachlan and rock band Daughtry, among others. All Live from T5 concerts take place post-security in the terminal marketplace.
Last night international pop star Robyn rocked out our T5 terminal at JFK with her piercing eyes and peppy stage presence. Contest winners along with surprised and delighted Customers passing through got caught up in the Robyn energy and danced and sang right along with the artist. Next up in our Live From T5 Concert Series will be an exclusive, intimate concert by Columbia Records Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and record producer Raphael Saadiq on Friday, April 8. The Live from T5 concert with Raphael Saadiq will be the first in the series hosted on a Friday, much to the enjoyment of Customers starting their weekend traveling with us.
Raphael Saadiq, considered the standard bearer for “old school” R&B, is celebrating the classic sounds of the 60s and 70s soul with a futuristic twist on Stone Rollin’. Featuring ten new tracks, the album is the follow up to Saadiq’s 2008 solo album The Way I See It, which boasted four Billboard R&B chart singles and was nominated for three Grammy Awards including Best R&B Album. Now with this new collection, Saadiq nods to his heroes like Chuck Berry, Stevie Wonder, Little Walter and Sly Stone, while merging his own contemporary sound, one born out of a combination of his recent touring experiences, as well as inspiration derived from indie acts that hold regular rotation in his iPod.
Today, we’re excited to announce that Irish recording artist Julie Feeney will be our next Live from T5 artist, performing as part of our two-day St. Patrick’s Day celebration in partnership with Tourism Ireland and Aer Lingus.
On March 16 and 17, leading up to Julie’s performance Thursday evening, our Customers will be invited to “Go Where Ireland Takes You” as T5 comes alive with all forms of Irish entertainment by traditional dancers, musicians and some of Ireland’s great mythological and folklore characters.
Customers will also get to enjoy traditional Irish music performed by The Atlantis Wave, and will have the opportunity to see a performances by step dancing troupes from the USG Performing ARTS, the Shehan Gormley School of Irish Dance and the Donny Golden School of Irish Dance. Green beer will be available for purchase at T5′s New York Sports Grill, select restaurants will be offering Jameson drink specials, and Irish Fare including Corned Beef and Cabbage and Sheppard’s Pie will be served in the Food Court. Complimentary goodies including shamrocks and Irish chocolates will be given out throughout the day.
