JetBlue’s town square – 7:30 a.m.

The Marketplace really feels like our own little town square. Our terminal is laid out in the three intersecting concourses — a martini glass shape, if you will — and the Marketplace is right where the three wings come together (imagine the olive in that martini!). It’s also the first thing you come to after […]

Best view in the house – 6:45 a.m.

Just as the sun was rising over New York, people began heading over to the tail end of the East Concourse to check out the views. The Moroso Lounge is the best spot in the house to not only take in the sunrise, but also check out the action on the runways.

First departure: 6 a.m.

Our Awesome JFK Crewmembers pushed our first departure out at 5:59 a.m. — a minute early — flight 709 en route to San Juan, Puerto Rico. This flight was another packed one, with this mom and babe-in-arms making history as some of the first jetters to depart T5: Tech Ops had the plane ready to […]

Smiles all around – 3:45 a.m.

I mentioned it earlier, but I’ll say it again: for the wee hours, it’s an awfully happy bunch. And rightly so: this building, this day, and all it represents for our airline feels incredible. You walk into T5, and you can’t help but feel instantly excited about this new airline experience. Here are a few […]

Just ask! 3:30 a.m.

T5 is a huge new building, and while many of us have spent a good deal of time roaming around its nooks and crannies the past few months, it can seem a little daunting for Crewmembers. Fortunately 100+ T5 Ambassadors are stationed around the terminal today and throughout the next few weeks to help you […]

Adiós T6 – midnight

As it happens, Puerto Rico lands the last flight out of T6 and the first flight out of T5! Just before midnight, flight 727 departed for Aguadilla on the west coast of the island, ably piloted by two of JetBlue’s finest Flight Ops Crewmembers, shown here with Airport Ops supervisor David Woodward, who worked the […]

History was made here

JetBlue truly made history at Terminal 6, doing something the critics said was impossible: creating an airline focused on customer service, with low fares (and low costs), based in New York. People said we were crazy. And now here we are, 7 1/2 years after that first flight departed T6, opening a new home next […]

Last arrival into JFK T6

We may be 10 hours away from the first arrival into T5, but history is happening tonight… It’s just after 7 p.m. on the East Coast, and our last arrival into JFK T6 is now airborne from Las Vegas! JetBlue flight 194 lifted off from LAS minutes ago, at 4:10 p.m. local, and is scheduled […]

A good-looking terminal for good-looking crew

We’re still on a high from yesterday’s party, having a blast reading all the accounts of the action in the blogosphere. My personal fav comes from our friends over at Jaunted. They described the party as “one hell of a heartfelt hoedown,” and I can’t think of a better way to sum up the emotion […]

The next day…JetBlue and T5 at NASDAQ

Yesterday’s party was great, wasn’t it? Hard to follow-up on that excitement, but this morning we managed to do just that in Times Square. A bunch of us were over at NASDAQ with Dave Barger to ring the opening bell and officially open the stock exchange in celebration of our new home at T5. Thanks […]
