Our 82nd City: Port-au-Prince!

We’re excited to announce our intent to serve our 82nd BlueCity, Port-au-Prince in Haiti!

From Toussaint Louverture International Airport (PAP) in the Haitian capital, we plan to offer one daily nonstop flight to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and twice daily flights to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), subject to receipt of government operating authority. We’ll look to take to the skies on December 5, 2013.

Our community involvement in Haiti predates our service announcement. In honor of Earth Day 2012, we partnered with Carbonfund.org Foundation to plant 83,000 trees in North and Northwest Haiti in order to rebuild areas impacted by the 2010 earthquake. In addition, to assist those most affected, we deployed crewmembers on our specially trained Care Team to our Santo Domingo station to coordinate with local agencies on the delivery of thousands of pounds of donated items to Haiti, coordinated matching donations, and offered seats on our flights to relief workers.

Stay tuned for more information soon about our newest city!
