Space Shuttle Discovery Lands At Dulles!

Yesterday morning, our crewmembers at Washington D.C.’s Dulles International Airport got front row seats to the Space Shuttle Discovery’s grand entrance. A modified Boeing 747 jet carried Discovery on its back from Florida to Washington! The airport is right next to the shuttle’s final resting place—the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum, at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia.

It will take two days to prepare and tow the shuttle to the museum for a formal welcome ceremony on Thursday. Discovery, which flew the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit, touched down at 11 a.m.
