Today is World Autism Awareness Day

The United Nations recognizes today as World Autism Awareness Day to “highlight the need to help improve the lives of children and adults who suffer from the disorder so they can lead full and meaningful lives.”

Our third annual Wings for Autism event will be held in Boston on May 19 with the goal of helping to create a safe environment for families taking on the challenges of traveling with an autistic child. By practicing the airport and flight experience, including going through TSA security and boarding an aircraft (without actually leaving the airport!), both parents and their children with special needs can gain the familiarity and confidence needed to fly for real when the time comes.
