Today Is Dominican Republic Independence Day

Today the Dominican Republic celebrates the 168th anniversary of its independence from Haiti in 1844, and honors the rich history, culture, and accomplishments of its people. Our crewmembers in the Dominican Republic will mark this important day by distributing paper replicas of the country’s flag to customers traveling on inbound and outbound DR flights. A traditional folk group of “Lechones” (suckling pigs) will showcase at our Santiago station, treating our customers to dancing, colorful silk costumes, and masks!
