Earlier this month, we asked our crewmembers to submit their stories about memorable volunteer experiences. In the spirit of giving, we share some of these stories with you.
Denver Crewmembers help an orphanage in the Domincan Republic
Denver-based crewmember Lisa recently decided to visit Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with her family in order to volunteer at a boy’s orphanage in the town of Higuey. Before her trip, Lisa emailed her fellow local crewmembers and asked them to donate any clothing, school supplies, towels or toys.
In order to convey the impact of her journey to the orphanage, Lisa emailed a summary of the trip to her fellow Crewmembers:
Once Lisa returned home and shared her experience (and a wish list from the orphanage that she visited) with her crewmembers, our whole Denver team decided to make this a holiday project and have been collecting more items that are needed at the orphanage. They plan to ship the gifts down to the children around the end of December.
