Spread Holiday Cheer Challenge: Burlington, Vermont

Earlier this month, we asked our crewmembers to submit their stories about memorable volunteer experiences. In the spirit of giving, we share some of these stories with you.

Burlington, Vermont

Our crewmembers in Burlington, Vermont (BTV) got involved in the community by partnering with the Lund Family Center (just as they have done for the past several years) to help the organization achieve its statewide mission. The Center is Vermont’s oldest and largest private non-profit adoption agency, and it works to help children thrive by serving adoptive families and being a residential treatment program for pregnant women and young parents. This year, BTV has ‘adopted’ a family of seven.

Our crewmembers’ contributions will allow them to meet the basic needs of their adoptive family, who have created a holiday ‘wish list.’ Their list contains items ranging from cold weather wear (hats, gloves, boots) to bath towels and pots/pans. Our crewmembers will donate items from the family’s list, so that they can give others something to unwrap this holiday season.

In addition, our crewmembers channeled their crafty sides by creating some holiday decorations for their adoptive family. Yes, that tree is made entirely of JetBlue baggage tags!
