JetBlue Secures Additional Slots to Expand at LaGuardia and Reagan National

We’re proud to announce that we’ve completed the agreement to purchase two bundles of eight slot pairs, one at New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and the second at Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), recently awarded in an FAA auction. A slot pair provides authorization for one daily arriving flight and one daily departing flight and will allow us to double our already popular service at both airports in 2012.

We’ve offered low fare flights at LaGuardia Airport since 2004 and currently serve three Florida destinations – Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Orlando, and West Palm Beach. At Reagan National, where we began operations in November 2010, we operate up to nine daily flights to our focus cities in Boston, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, and Orlando. In just our first year, we’ve successfully lowered the industry fares to the Boston market by 30%. We look forward to growth and job creation at both airports through this expansion.

We intend to announce destinations and schedules for our new service in the coming months.
