JetBlue Crewmembers Fight Breast Cancer ‘One Quarter At a Time’

Earlier this month, our Jacksonville crewmembers participated in the Bike 26.2 with Donna. The cycling event took place in Hanna Park in Florida and all proceeds went to the Mayo Clinic and The Donna Foundation, charitable organizations dedicated to supporting the needs of women living with breast cancer.

We were a sponsor of the event, and three of our crewmembers participated in the race! Other members of our team worked the JetBlue booth, where they handed out Blue Chips and answered questions.

When it came to fundraising for the event, the team found inspiration in their jobs! Whenever they saw luggage carts abandoned in the airport, they returned them to where they belong and put $0.25 in a jar. Then, they asked their local bike shop to match the amount of money they collected in the jar with a bike that they raffled off to support the race! “Fighting breast cancer one quarter at a time” became a common phrase around the station.
