JetBlue transports World Trade Center artifact to Florida

Back in January, we received a request for transportation support from the Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department in Clearwater, Florida. A section of the World Trade Center’s North Tower was to be displayed within their city limits as a way for the public and fire service members to pay tribute to those who lost their lives, and our help was needed to assist in transporting the piece from New York to Tampa, Florida. Our Regional Manager Corporate Security, John, took the lead in coordinating efforts between various departments including Airports, Cargo and Customer Care to help make this happen.

Once the Captain was briefed on the important flight, it was decided that the piece was too special to be placed in the cargo hold, but needed special care; so the 80” piece was carried down to Florida in the cockpit. The Clearwater Fire/Rescue was grateful for JetBlue’s support and excellent Customer Service.
