Today we released our preliminary traffic results for August 2011. Traffic in August increased 5.8 percent from August 2010, on a capacity increase of 4.6 percent.
Load factor for August 2011 was 87.3 percent, an increase of 0.9 points from August 2010. Our preliminary completion factor was 93.0 percent and our on-time (1) performance was 61.6 percent. Our preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) for the month of August increased seven percent year over year. Approximately one point of this increase is attributable to the impact of Hurricane Irene, which reduced our capacity and revenues. For the third quarter, PRASM is expected to increase between 6 and 8 percent year over year.>
