Our Airport Communications Manager Eva was lucky enough to be at a filming and photo shoot with some of our amazing Crewmembers and NY Jets partners yesterday morning at Newark International Airport. Read all about her adventure in her own words:
Alex Battaglia our Vice President of Airports took Jets fans on an all-access tour of our Jets livery today at Newark Liberty International Airport for a CBS special,“Flight Plan” and the Jets 2011 Yearbook. Our Jets livery looks amazing both in the air and on the ground. This unified design takes our customary livery and interchanges blue for green throughout, while paying homage to the Jets team’s origins. In place of our characteristic ‘blue’ name featured under the cockpit of each aircraft, this plane features JetBlue’s co-branded trademark with New York State’s iconic tourism campaign and logo, I Love New York, solidifying our status as the official hometown airline of New York.
As a Brooklyn native, it’s all the more exciting because JetBlue and the Jets play in the same backyard, with New York as our home turf. Much like the Jets, we have diverse, loyal fans that expect more of us than the other guys and we deliver on our brand promise.
Spending time with our Crewmembers and hearing them share the excitement they see in our Customers when they operate or service our NY Jets aircraft was true to our fun value! The Jets Flight Crew seemed to enjoy having the time to explore the aircraft and interact with our Crewmembers from Flight Ops, Inflight, Airport Operations and Ground Operations,
The synergy between the Jets and JetBlue is core to what it means to be a part of this great city. JetBlue, and the Jets, put people first – our fans, our Customers, our Crewmembers and players. It’s what we’ve been doing for more a decade, and what the Jets have done for the past 50 years. It’s how JetBlue continues to set ourselves apart going forward.
It’s pretty neat to know that our Jets livery has flown a total of 851 flights and has been to 52 BlueCities since “becoming a NY Jet” in October of 2010. As a Jets fan myself, one of my favorite things about flying JetBlue is that you never have to miss a game with NFL Sunday Ticket on board!
