As told by an Inflight Crewmember
A Customer who had come onto the plane in a wheelchair was sitting in the front row. I made my usual announcements and performed the safety demo. During my compliance check, I saw that her seat belt wasn’t fastened. I asked her to please fasten her belt, and she looked at me with a bit of surprise. “Oh, you fooled me,” she said. “From your announcement, I thought I was exempt.” I don’t know what our dear Customer thought she heard, but I had said nothing about wheelchair Customers being “exempt” from the laws of physics on-board the airplane.
