Our Portland, Maine Crewmembers held a charitable chili cookoff in their New England BlueCity last week. JetBlue finished first and third out of 20 entries with chili made by Crewmembers Bob Kincaid and Dan Marcoccio, respectively.
The chilli cookoff was an idea the airport came up with to raise money for the Preble Street Food Pantry which serves as a homeless shelter. The event raised $400 to aid in providing contributions to the organization for the Thanksgiving holiday. It was a wonderful event and all 20 participants who donated their chili for the contest were awarded prizes. Judges tasted, voted and announced the top three dishes of their liking and it was a thrill to see that Jetblue placed so well. Not one drop of chili was left when the event ended!
