Why I joined JetBlue Airways

As relayed by IT Airline Operations Business Analyst Jesus:

I joined JetBlue in November of 2009 as a Business Analyst in the IT Airline Operations group. I have been a big fan of JetBlue for far longer though. My first experience with the company came in 2004 when JetBlue launched service between my hometown Boston and my new home in Orlando. I distinctly remember being very impressed with the JetBlue flight experience and telling my family and friends about JetBlue and from then on I became a faithful JetBlue customer.

My career in IT spans over 12 years and getting the opportunity to join the JetBlue IT team represented a new and exciting challenge for me. It meant learning about an industry that I had not previously worked in and utilizing my experience and unique skills set in order to help JetBlue IT accomplish its goals of:

  • Being In Alignment with the Business
  • Leading, Not Just Following
  • Being Consistent, Predicatable, Improving
  • Maximizing IT Investment

I joined JetBlue because I wanted to use my first-hand experience as a devoted JetBlue customer along with my IT career experience and skill set to help accomplish our goal of ‘Better Enabling JetBlue Through IT’.
