JetBlue recognized by PFLAG with Corporate Leadership Award

We’ve been recognized by PFLAG NYC as this year’s honoree of its Corporate Leadership Award, to be given at PFLAG’s annual gala next month.

PFLAG’s award recognizes our five years of support for the organization and to the greater cause of marginalized LGBT youth — through our work with organizations like the Ali Forney Center, America’s largest shelter for homeless LGBT teens, and the Point Foundation, which funds college scholarships.

Did you know that 86.2% of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) students reported being verbally harassed, 44.1% reported being physically harassed and 22.1% reported being physically assaulted at school in the past year because of their sexual orientation.

Other PFLAG leadership award recipients this year include Miss New York, Claire Buffie, and Brian Burke, the president of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the 2010 U.S. Men’s Olympic Hockey Team.
