Sail and a spare in Boothbay, ME by Kathryn Hicks
As relayed by Kathryn:
I am a recent conflicted empty-nester – relieved/happy my son’s starting a new and very appropriate chapter in his life but reluctant to give him up. The same week we moved him into the dorm, we had to get out of our incredibly quiet house so headed for the skies (via JetBlue) to Boston. Drove to Maine, explored for a week, returned to Boston for a few final days. And then alas, we had to step out of denial and come back to the quiet home. We can’t wait to book another trip somewhere distracting very soon. You’ll be hearing from us right after the holidays, I’m sure.
The picture of the sail boat was taken in Boothbay, ME. We passed each other while we were on a different sail boat. This was my first sail boat adventure and I loved it. I think when their sails are up, there’s nothing prettier. It was calming and exhilarating all at the same time (hey, kinda like my new found empty nest adventure!).
Thanks for choosing my picture!
