Did you know… that we have both a Department of Social Responsibility as well as a Care Department that monitor and administer charitable aid and varying degrees of support internally and externally in the local and global community?
Representatives from both aforementioned departments have joined forces to form a dedicated Haitian relief team, which is presently working closely with the Haitian Consulate in New York — as well as with the Red Cross and the Give Them A Hand Foundation — to offer our aid in transporting personnel and supplies to the island of Hispaniola by utilizing available seats on our flights to the Dominican Republic. With the matching donation pledge from JetBlue, we have raised more than $100,000 in relief support. The Care & Emergency Response Department, which works internally, have been taking care of our impacted Crewmembers, and Corporate Social Responsibility has been taking the lead with charitable partners and organizations.
We support more than 75 charities monthly via donations through our WECARE program and, in addition, we partner with other non-profit organizations to provide everything from building playgrounds for children to donating blankets to the homeless to offering complimentary airline tickets for charity auctions- to name just a few.
Perhaps that’s why we were voted one of Fortune’s “Most admired companies” back in 2007.
