Please “go” before we go

Listed as one of CNN’s Dumbest Business Moments in 2009, Japanese airline, All Nippon Airways, had crewmembers stand in the terminal to encourage customers to relieve themselves before boarding the plane in efforts to reduce the weight of the aircraft. Apparently the human bladder can hold an average of 2.2 pounds of liquid, more than 500 pounds of additional weight total for all passengers aboard the Boeing 777.

Like All Nippon and most airlines, JetBlue has also looked for ways to lighten the load. We removed a row of seats back in 2007 as a way to reduce the weight of the aircraft- and it even created even more legroom for our customers!

I suppose we all have our different tactics!
